Bungus –The unexplored valley of Kashmir best for Eco-tourism

Bungus with bowl-shaped located on the outer skirt of Kashmir, Kupwara from north side near Handwara approx 10,000 feet rise above the sea level.  Bungus is growing tourist attraction that we can soon find it in the tourist map of Jammu and Kashmir. 

Many people are still not aware of this beautiful destination of Kashmir.
Bungus can become a tourist place in large scale, but it is not getting the support of the administration. That's why it lacks road connectivity. There is also a small tea shop at the Bungus Valley which is offering snacks and serving tea to tourist people. 

You will find many army folks roaming around, and you can get a good chance for interaction. Bungus Valley consists of mountains, grassland biome and coniferous forest with different flora and fauna of high altitude.


 They also comprise of wetlands of fresh water situated near the Bungus valley offering a breathtaking view. The best way to enjoy this natural beauty is trekking.  You can go on trek or hire a bike. You can go by bike and bullet on rent to enjoy dense valley and hills. The best season to visit Bungus Valley is winter where you can observe heavy snowfall on hills.

 You need to get permission from the general army officials located at the TCP camp near Nowgama, Handwara. Because of Indo –park border which is near to Bungus valley, so it will be great if you’ve proper permission. If you want to reach Bungus Valley, you need to go to Radha which is approx 40 km from the Handwara.
